About the site
Seaforth PSC is the Sponsoring Committee's news and events source for the Seaforth Highlander of Canada Army Cadet Corps. The website began as a small photo gallery site for 2893 Port Coquitlam and was independently owned and operated by myself, Judy McLean, a cadet volunteer. Over the years it evolved into a parent website shared by the all 6 sponsoring committee's. Although I still manage and "host" (housed on ruskinridge.com) the "seaforthpsc.org" website is now owned by the Seaforth parent committee.
About the committee's
The Sponsoring Committee is responsible for raising funds to cover the extra costs that the Corps. may incur for team equipment and outings among other things. To do this, they hold a few fundraising events each year such as pub nights, or bowling nights. There are also ongoing fundraisers throughout the year such as bake sales, bottle drives etc. Please try to support the committee as much as you can by coming out to events or even giving a little of your time and joining the committee. "Many hands make light work".
The committee is open to parents or guardians of cadets and to adults without cadet children who would like to become involved in the cadet Corps. For parents it is a great way to get a chance to ask questions, get to know other cadets parents and keep up to date with your cadet's activities. Like the cadets, parents make long time friendships as well.
Contributing Photos, Files, Articles & FAQ's
Gallery System: Designated users (1 or 2 persons per corps please) can upload photos themselves to the gallery. Please contact me to request the global password prior to gallery registration as you will need it for this process. A tutorial on how to upload photos is in the Gallery FAQ section along with some important information regarding file sizes and web space. Also please read the Website Guidelines page on what files can and can't be added to the website.
Best Dressed Cadet
If your Corps participates in choosing a best dressed junior cadet every month, I would be happy to post a photo of the winning cadets with their CO on our Best Dressed Cadet page. The photo will stay for the duration of a month until the next cadet is chosen.

Our website hosts information for all 6 Seaforth Highlanders of Canada Army Cadet Parent Committee's. This has brought up a need for distinguishing corps events from one another. Areas for each corps are colour coded for clarification, for example, 2812 Surrey is blue, 2893 Port Coquitlam is orange, 2277 Langley is dark green, 72nd Vancouver is dark yellow, 2963 Sechelt is purple and 1867 Delta is red.
On our online sponsoring committee (PSC) calendar, school, stat holidays, plus notable and other days are pink, and events / activities / competitions involving all or multiple corps or sponsoring committee's are light blue/turquoise. Individual (per corps) sponsoring committee events are under their respective corps colour. Information for the online calendar is updated as it it given.
Please note, that any corps activities added to the PSC calendar are activities placed there for the committee's to work around. Please check your corps training calendars for full training information.
